Introduction
SICILY - Cefalu’
Located on the mountainside above the old town of Cefalù it offers a perfect base for a holiday of sightseeing combined with lazying on the terrace or on the beach.
Every apartment is completely furnished and has its own huge terrace with view on the town and the sea, surrounded by olive groves, Bougainvilleas, grapevines, various fruit trees and last but not least PEACE AND QUIET.
A car is recommended, because it is 6 minutes to get to town, on foot about 40 minutes.
Cefalù is on the north coast of Sicily, 80 km east of Palermo.
The nearest airport is Palermo but you can also use Catania, which is a 2 hour drive on the autostrada. By car you can drive the whole way down or either take the ferry in Genova or Naples.
A holiday in Cefalù is for both resting and sight seeing. You can go to see the temples in Agrigento, Selinunte or Segesta, a Roman Villa in Piazza Armerina or you can go hiking in the nearby mountains. (Maps available).
Cefalù itself is a nice little town with lots of bars with terraces and restaurants. It has a nice sandy beach, but there are rocks as well, which is nice for snorkelling. The cathedral dates from 1200 and is worthwhile visiting, so is the museum and a medieval washing place.
