Outdoors
Just by the entrance to the garden is an ancient Mulberry tree, a remnant from a time when the whole hamlet was producing silk. In the garden is the swimming pool (8 x 4.5mt) and the pool house. Surrounding the hamlet are vineyards and small areas of pine woods, perfect for a stroll or to pick wild thyme and rosemary.

Local information
The hamlet of La Maniere is located between the villages of Puisserguier and Cebazan, a short drive from the RN112, which connects Beziers and Albi. Puisserguier is a lively village, only five minutes by car, with a weekly market offering fresh produce, cheeses and general groceries to mention but a few. There is also a good selection of shops, bakers, butchers, grocers, two bars, a restaurant and a pharmacy. Near the village of Cazedarnes you can visit the Abbaye de Fontcaude, dating from the 12th and 13th century, where concerts are held in the summer.
La Maniere is strategically situated for exploring the surrounding area. Only a short drive away are the beaches of the mediterranean, the historic towns of Beziers and Narbonne. A little further afield is the medieaval fortress of Carcassonne, and the university town of Montpellier. An area rich in Roman history, you can find remnants of this epoch almost everywhere: the oppidum in Enserune, Amphoralis, the Roman pottery museum in Salleles dAude, the Horreum Romanum in Narbonne to mention just a few.
