Heating is via a wood burning stove in the living room which also heats an outdoor seat on the patio.
There is one bathroom with separate shower, bath and toilet.
Bedrooms
3 bedrooms: master bedroom is large with king size bed and french doors opening onto rear deck and garden.
2nd bedroom is smaller with double bed and french doors opening onto front deck and garden.
3rd bedroom is small with single bed.
There is also a camp bed available for use if required.
Outdoors
Davys Cottage is set in 6 acres of bush and garden landscape, surrounded by native birds. The property forms a small private valley and is adjacent to a bush reserve with a footpath leading to a small beach (about 1 minute walk) on Aucklands peaceful Manukau Harbour.
Wooden decks surround 2 sides of the property and there is a trampoline in the garden to the rear of the house.
Local information
As the gateway to the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, Titirangi is the perfect base from which to explore the unspoilt beauty of the area. Bushwalks to hidden waterfalls and breathtaking cliff views abound in an area famous as an inspiration for artists for centuries.
The native bush of the Waitakere Ranges is a sub-tropical rainforest and home to many unique species of native birds.
Titirangis location on the shores of the Manukau Harbour makes it the ideal place for fishing, kayaking or coastal walks to the many tiny bays and coves, used only by locals.
Titirangi village is well served by quality cafes, shops and restaurants. It is a popular destination for Aucklanders escaping the city to meet for brunch in the many pavement cafes.
Historic Lopdell House in Titirangi contains an art gallery, theatre, restaurant, bakery, alternative therapists and community space.
Titirangi is only 25 minutes drive from Aucklands wild west coast where black volcanic sand and crashing breakers make for a spectacular landscape.
You are spoilt for choice with Aucklands finest surf beach at Piha; the stunningly beautiful Karekare beach where the Academy award winning movie The Piano was filmed; wild and unspoilt Bethells beach; and Muriwai beach with its resident gannet colony only metres from the footpath.
Auckland is New Zealands largest city and the centre for commerce. Located in the north of the North Island and surrounded by its beautiful twin harbours it is well described as the city of sails.
Auckland is home to people from all over the Pacific and Asia and this multi-cultural flavour is embraced by the city and reflected in the local food and culture.
Titirangi is only 30 minutes by car from downtown Auckland.
