Located close to the park entrance allowing convenient access into the jungle, the lodge is spread over one hectare of pleasant greenery surrounded by fields and Tharu village houses. Accommodation is provided in three cottages containing two guest rooms each. The dining hall serves delectable Nepalese and Continental cuisine.

The large garden fronting the guest cottages is a fine place to relax with birds of all hues chirping away in the trees. After dinner, you can sit around the campfire exchanging stories with fellow adventurers. There is electric lighting for a few hours at night from the hotel8217;s private generator. Otherwise it8217;s candles and kerosene lanterns.

Bardia8217;s jungles contain a variety of wildlife - notable among them are the wild elephant, one-horned rhino, Bengal tiger, a great many kinds of deer and the wild boar. The guides are expert trackers, and they will lead you on jungle walks to seek out different animals in their natural habitat. Elephant-back safaris allow you to go deeper into the forest and explore places not possible on foot.
The Manau Ghat on the Geruwa river, which is reached by buffalo cart and a short boat ride, offers dolphin viewing opportunities. The river banks are also terrific for bird watching. It is normal to observe more than 25 different species - like kingfishers, egrets, ruddy shelducks, eagles, cormorants, lapwings and even the rare hoopoe - during a few hours8217; outing.
